Addicted

The afternoon passed, darkness sifted down. The silence of the night was deafening. She could listen to the lub-dub of her own heartbeat, the deep breaths she took to calm herself down in the darkness and the subtle thoughts in the day amplified; as if she's in a theater with perfect speakers and the pressing questions rose to haunt her again. She lost all sense of time as she pondered all possible scenarios. At times like this, she wished she had Alzheimer. Yet a part of her clings onto the memories like a lost child screaming for his mom-desperate.
